Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Fans Can Get Early Access to the Open Beta Without Pre-Ordering

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 publisher Activision has announced that fans looking to gain early access to the shooter’s upcoming beta can do so by simply watching one hour of the COD Next event on Twitch. The Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 open beta is set to begin on October 5, but those who have already pre-ordered the title can jump in from October 2. However, Activision is now giving fans an alternative way to gain early access to next week’s playtest.

The upcoming open beta will be available on all supported platforms, which include PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. While the continued support for last-gen consoles raised some eyebrows among fans, developer Treyarch Studios recently spoke about its decision to release Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. According to the studio, it boils down to the fact that a large portion of the game’s player base is still on the 12-year-old consoles.

Call of Duty Is Giving Away Black Ops 7 Open Beta Early Access Codes

No matter what platform you’re on, Activision is giving Call of Duty fans the chance to get their hands on an early access beta code for Black Ops 7 without pre-ordering. In a new post on Twitter, the studio confirmed that fans can simply watch one hour of the yearly COD Next event, which will take place on September 30, to receive an early access code. Although the open beta will be available to everyone from October 5, those looking to jump in from October 2 will need one of these lucrative codes, which can be obtained by pre-ordering the game or through the new Twitch promotion.

This isn’t the only promotion Activision has been running where fans can get their hands on early access beta codes for Black Ops 7, either. Earlier this month, the publisher announced a new collaboration with Xfinity in the United States. Those subscribed to Xfinity and eligible for the company’s free reward program can claim the code online, which can then be used to gain early access to the open beta, once again removing the requirement of pre-ordering.

For those outside the US or for anyone who isn’t subscribed to Xfinity, checking out the returning COD Next event is the next best way to obtain an early access code. The event will take place on September 30 with plenty of new information and reveals surrounding the next entry in the series, Call of Duty: Black Ops 7. However, fans can also likely expect announcements pertaining to Call of Duty: Warzone, the free-to-play Battle Royale title, Call of Duty Mobile, and more. The event can be watched live on Twitch and will start at 9:00 AM PT / 12:00 PM ET / 5:00 PM BST.
